Capture the essence of many films in a single 2D system, using the director’s own work.
The films have heavy themes, but painterly staging and vibrant color. I used Kurosawa's storyboard paintings to overlay movie stills, suggesting these deeper messages, while also creating cohesion between a variety of films - period and modern, monochrome and color.
